Lung diseases kill 4 million people every year. Aga Apple’s working to fix that!
She studies how the immune system identifies and responds to viruses, like the flu, and thereby determines susceptibility to bacterial infections, like pneumonia. Her research underpins the rational design of vaccines, immunotherapies for influenza and strategies to combat ‘superbug’ infections.
Aga is a new Assistant Professor at Montana State University. We built a new website for Aga and her growing team. Anne-Lise Ducluzeau flew to Montana to create the imagery and Virginia Schutte wrote some accessible, engaging descriptions of Aga’s research projects.
