Dr Casey Theriot is an Assistant Professor at North Carolina State University. Her lab specialises in gastrointestinal microbiology, metabolomics, and infectious diseases.
The lab’s current research portfolio focuses on a major public health problem – Clostridium difficile infection (CDI). CDI is the leading nosocomial infection in the United States, affecting over 500,000 Americans and killing around 30,000 each year.
For this project, Tenure Chasers collaborated with local NCSU photographer Nathan Latil.
